Assistant Pastry Chef

The Assistant Pastry Chef is responsible for the production and quality control of all pastries, cakes, breads and desserts served throughout the hotel. To ensure a professional running of his kitchen and has to ensure that agreed quality, hygiene and other standards are kept or surpassed at all times. Assist Executive Pastry Chef in all aspect of administrative support as well as operation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

·       Supervise and coordinate all Pastry/Bakery section and dessert preparation and presentation With Guide line of Executive Pastry Chef

 

·         Plan production to facilitate daily requirements

 

·         Assist Executive Pastry Chef in planning promotions, menu implementations according to the annual marketing plans

 

·         Develop appropriate seasonal menu offerings

 

·        Be constantly aware of customers' expectations and ever changing needs

 

·         Be responsible for and accountable for the food cost as well as kitchen supplies, kitchen energy costs and kitchen utensils in the assigned section

 

·         Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety regulations

 

·         To create or delegate with clear visions modern and elegant buffet display and elaborate new pastry products

 

·        To stay updated about new pastry decoration techniques and equipments to be able to propose solutions to be more effective and productive

 

·        Manage Department's duty schedule

 

·        Manage market list ordering , recipe card and costing;  Assist in the preparation and control of daily and weekly market lists

 

·        Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings

 

·        Find ways to improve the efficiency of the operations, which will benefit our clients

        

·        Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head from time to time
